work with joy
I share trauma-informed practice to build capacity for nervous system coherence. My mission is to anchor more love on planet Earth to support collective liberation and thriving.
A holistic approach rooted in compassion
My work draws on a range of evidence-based modalities, including Yoga Therapy, Integrative Restoration (iRest) and Somatic Experiencing to assist people in feeling well-resourced to move through life.
As a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500), I have deep respect and gratitude for yoga and my root teacher T.K.V. Desikachar. I am training as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (Advanced Level) to support clients in resolving trauma and other stress responses.
"Joy is a precious guide. She has a wonderful sense of how to help people feel at ease. I now have more tools for soul-care and mindful living. She is so kind and wise; her tone of voice, her language, her cadence... the content of what she shares and how she shares it - she is really exceptional and so trauma-informed. I felt such a sense of comfort and safety. Fantastic!" - Rituals for Resilience client
As a facilitator and educator, I draw on 15 years of experience with people from all walks of life. I create custom offerings based on client needs and interests. Rates vary on a sliding scale from $60-120 per hour.

Tools for Supporting Your Whole Being
Somatic Resourcing
Resources act as protective factors against stress. Anything that feels supportive and helps you come into present time is a resource (e.g. listening to a favourite song, walking in nature, petting a four legged friend, etc.). Orienting, grounding, centering, breathing and moving are the key resources explored in this video.
